Where procedural competence becomes professional excellence.
Doctorate-level aesthetic medicine training in a positive, nurturing environment — built for nurses, NPs, CRNAs, and PAs who are serious about mastery, not just technique. This is not your next weekend certification. This is the turning point in your career.
"The gap between a provider who can perform a procedure and one who has truly mastered it is not measured in syringes — it is measured in layers of understanding, built one deliberate experience at a time."
Aesthetic medicine is evolving faster than its educational standards. Providers are entering clinical practice with procedural exposure — but not clinical confidence. With surface knowledge — but not professional depth. With a certificate — but not a command of their craft.
Layering Aesthetics exists because Shannon Slabinski spent 25 years watching what separates clinicians who are technically adequate from those who are truly exceptional — and then spent years teaching it at the graduate level. The answer is never a shortcut. It is always a layer.
We celebrate Shannon's dedication to raising the standard of this profession — one carefully trained clinician at a time.
Every design decision in our curriculum — from pedagogy to environment to instructor caliber — is intentional. Here is why we are different from everything else in this industry.
Our curriculum is not a menu — it is a progression. Each layer is a prerequisite for the next, building the deepest possible foundation for professional ownership of your craft.
Shannon Slabinski is not a speaker who became a trainer. She is a doctorate-prepared CRNA who spent decades mastering the precision of anesthesia — one of the most pharmacologically complex and safety-critical specialties in all of medicine — and then turned that depth of clinical knowledge toward the aesthetic field she loves.
She spent years educating graduate anesthesia students, learning what it truly takes for a skilled clinician to develop not just competency, but ownership of advanced clinical skills. That pedagogy is the foundation of everything Layering Aesthetics does.
Shannon founded Bloomsburg Med Spa in 2021, building a team of six specialized providers across two Pennsylvania locations under these same principles. She knows what a clinic built on clinical excellence looks like — because she built one.
Learn with ShannonEvery program in our curriculum is built around a single pedagogical truth: mastery is never transferred in a single session. It is built, one deliberate layer at a time, in an environment where the learner feels safe enough to practice, fail, adjust, and grow.
View the CurriculumEvery tactile skill begins with deep anatomical and pharmacological understanding. We do not put a needle in your hand before you can articulate exactly what tissue plane you are targeting, what product behavior to expect, and what risk you are managing.
We believe in coached repetition over self-directed guessing. Our live model training is small-group, supervised, and feedback-intensive. You practice with intention. You receive real-time correction. You practice again — until the technique stops being a thought and starts being instinct.
Patient consultation, expectation management, and trust-building are clinical skills — ones that most programs skip entirely. We train them with the same rigor we bring to technique, because your ability to communicate defines your reputation more than your syringe ever will.
Adult learners acquire and retain clinical skills most effectively in environments where they feel encouraged, respected, and genuinely supported. Every Layering Aesthetics instructor is selected not just for clinical excellence, but for their capacity to teach with warmth and rigor in equal measure.
We are not training providers to clear a bar. We are training them to set one. The benchmark at Layering Aesthetics is: Does this provider carry themselves, communicate, and perform at a level that builds a clinic's reputation for the long term?
"I have taken courses before where I left knowing I had watched something impressive. After Shannon's training, I left knowing I could do it — and knowing exactly why it worked. That is a completely different experience."
"Shannon's ability to translate her depth of clinical knowledge into something teachable — and do it in a way that is encouraging, not intimidating — is rare. This is the course I wish I had taken when I started."
"The anatomy content alone was worth every penny. I learned things in Layer One that I should have known before I ever touched a syringe. My consultations and my confidence are completely different now."
The clinicians who define the future of aesthetic medicine are not the ones who learned the most shortcuts. They are the ones who were willing to go deep — to build real mastery, real confidence, and a professional standard that drives long-term results and lasting clinic reputation.
